Keep It Cozy: Why a Small Party Can Make a Big Impression

When you’re hosting a party, you want it to be an event everyone will remember. But “Go big or go home!” isn’t always best. Ironically, it’s often smaller, more intimate gatherings which make the biggest impression on guests. Here are three good reasons why you might want to keep things cozy at your next get-together.

It’s easier to spend time with all your guests. One of the most stressful elements of being the hostess is feeling like you need to be everywhere at once. If you keep the guest list more manageable, (and hire us to handle catering) you can make sure you spend at least a little time with everyone. Events are about making memories! Make sure you are free to have a moment with each person who attends.

It’s easier to plan the menu. The bigger the guest list, the more you have to account for special dietary concerns and preferences. It’s also easier to account for different sized appetites! A smaller guest list gives you a bit more wiggle room if one guest’s idea of an appetizer is another’s entree. Of course, as a boutique caterer, we have a lot of experience in accommodating dietary needs and planning portions.

It’s great preparation for bigger events. If you haven’t done a lot of entertaining, it can be a good idea to start off smaller. Then you can expand as you get more comfortable playing hostess. If your party is smaller, any hiccups will be smaller as well. You can learn from them and avoid them next time. Work your way up to that big event, without biting off more than you can chew.

If you’re considering throwing a party soon, I hope this post made it all seem a little less intimidating. I also hope you’ll remember to call us and check out our delectable sample menus.

We’d be thrilled to attend as your boutique caterer!
