What I’m Thankful For + Hot Chocolate Recipes!

Hot Chocolate Recipes

Here at the Secret Ingredient, we’re all about delicious food that nourishes your body, but there are other modalities for health and healing. This season especially, we’re focusing on gratitude. Incorporating gratitude into your daily routine can be just as beneficial to your well-being as healthy eating. It helps you see the world in a more positive light, and when you’re faced with challenges, it can help get you through by focusing on all the good that is still there.

If you’re like me, it’s easy to be weighed down by the stress of the holiday season. There are just so many gifts to find and meals to prepare! So this year, I want to invite all of you to join me in making a long list of all that we are grateful for. And you should know that your support is at the top of mine. It’s been a busy year for me, with rebranding, starting a blog, working with new clients, serving long-time clients, teaching cooking classes and catering your special events. But it has all been worth it, and you have made it all possible. I appreciate it more than you know.

Now, there are some other things on my list, too… like holiday recipes. My favorite? Hot chocolate!

Holiday Hot Chocolate Recipes

  1. Vegan Hot Chocolate: Thick, creamy, and healthy too, it makes for the perfect little pick-me-up during the winter months. For a dairy-free, kid-friendly version, I recommend this recipe. It’s filling, so you can get your sweets craving satisfied without going overboard on the desserts… and vegan, so you can indulge worry-free.
  2. Spiked Hot Chocolate: If you want to take your hot chocolate to the next level, try this bourbon-infused option. While not kid-friendly or dairy-free, it’s a more traditional choice that’s perfect for warming up on a chilly night, or whipping up a batch of to serve at your next holiday party.

If you want to add healthy eating to your list of gratitude in the New Year, or want to host a dinner to show how thankful you are to the loved ones in your life, I can help. Contact me for more info.

Happy Holidays!
